A retired newspaper editor and reporter, J. R. Lindermuth lives and writes in central Pennsylvania. He is the author of nine novels, including four in his Sticks Hetrick mystery series published by Whiskey Creek Press: Something In Common, Cruel Cuts, Corruption's Child and, the latest, Being Someone Else. His other novels are Schlussel's Woman, St. Hubert's Stag, Watch The Hour, The Accidental Spy (now available in Kindle) and Fallen From Grace, a historical mystery published by Wild Oaks, the new Western line of Oak Tree Press.

He has also published articles and short stories in a variety of magazines, both print and on line.

Lindermuth began his newspaper career in the U.S. Army. After a period as a copy editor with North Asia Press in Seoul, Korea, he worked for a weekly newspaper and then several dailies before retiring in 2000. Since retiring, he has served as librarian for his county historical society where he assists patrons with genealogy and historical research.

He is the father of a son and a daughter and has four grandsons.
